Variable fields list


Often it is useful to draw labels that self-modify at printing time according to your needs.
For instance:
we have four different objects to label. They are objects of the same collection, they have the same label, but they are different by code and color:

We need that at printing time the label remains the same one but the following have to differ one form each other in code and color.
To get this behavior we need to draw the label defining the graphical objects that define the color and code like variable fields




Then we need to define a list of the data to be printed.

Once we drew the label we must define the graphical objects like variable fields. The objects that define variable fields are text, symbols and bar-code .
To define variable fields:

In the previous label we defined 1111 and Gold as variable fields .
Once defined the variable fields we need to define a new data list to be filled in the variable field at printing time, to do that select the menu Label->New list... item.

Select the menu Label->New list... item to get the dialog window: Variable fields editor. In this dialog is a form where you can input and edit the data to be printed in variable fields at printing time.
